BOYCOTT RAPPER CAM'RON'S NEW CD "CRIME PAYS" ON MAY 12TH 2009.

Hiphossip Canada (Hiphossip.com) is Canada's leading music blog that focuses a great deal on hip-hop music and other genres as well. As Editor, I firmly believe in FREE SPEECH but here in Canada, I do not believe that such a name for a CD should be promoted to young hip-hop fans in light of the crime rates here in North America. Nine police officers killed in 30 days in the USA, Oakland, Miami and Pittsburgh, teenagers and young adults in their 20's gunned down all over Toronto, Canada.

The lovely city of Vancouver taken over by gang wars and yet we are getting ready to host the winter Olympics there, many young children of immigrants getting cut short in the prime of their lives in Calgary, Alberta and other Canadian cities....even 35 kids under 21 dead in Chicago in 2009 so far. Cam'ron himself was shot in his Lamborghini vehicle in 2005.(Google that)

Why would he put out a CD titled "Crime Pays?" CAM'RON AND DIPLOMAT RECORDS SHOULD FOLLOW IN RAPPER NAS'S FOOTSTEP. CHANGE THE NAME OF THAT CD NOW! OUR CHILDREN WILL EMULATE THIS. Track #1 is a SIN! "I hate my job" is telling our kids not to get an everyday job and just go back to the streets! Some of you may think I may be helping sales. There will be no sales until it's changed! This first week is very important for sales so DO NOT BUY IT!!

BOYCOTT RAPPER CAM'RON'S NEW CD "CRIME PAYS" ON MAY 12TH 2009

CIC IS THE CITIZEN AND IMMIGRATION OF CANADA. NO VISAS AT THE BORDER FOR CAM'RON AND THE DIPLOMATS IF THIS CD IS NOT RENAMED!! WE ARE TIRED OF VIOLENT LYRICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CRIME DOES NOT PAY!!!!!!!!

Cameron Giles better known by his stage name Cam'ron, previously known as Killa Cam, is a Grammy-nominated American rapper and actor. He is the founder of the hip hop group The Diplomats, commonly known as Dipset. Cameron Giles was born in Harlem, New York. He went to school at Manhattan Center High School, where he would meet his long time friends Mase and Jim Jones. He began his musical career in the mid 1990s, rapping alongside Big L, Mase and his cousin Bloodshed in a group called Children Of The Corn. The group dissolved after Bloodshed's death in a car accident in 1997 and Big L's death in 1999.

Big L was shot and killed in Harlem on the night of February 15, 1999. Gerard Woodley, a childhood friend of Big L, was arrested in May for the crime. At the time of his death, L had two brothers in prison. "It's a good possibility it was retaliation for something [Big L's] brother did, or [Woodley] believed he had done," said a spokesperson for the NYPD and the murder case remains unsolved.

On October 23, 2005, Cam'ron was leaving a nightclub in Washington D.C., having performed the day before at Howard University, and stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of New York and New Jersey avenues. Shortly after midnight, a passenger of a nearby car threatened Cam'ron to "give up" his car, a 2006 Lamborghini. Cam'ron resisted, and the gunman then shot him. Cam'ron was struck at least once as he was holding the steering wheel, but he was able to drive, going the wrong way on streets and flashing his lights, trying to get a police officer's attention because he didn't know his location or that of a hospital, until a fan drove him to Howard University Hospital.

The gunman and passenger fled and crashed into a parked car and a home, then fled the scene. D.C. Metro Police recovered a cell phone from the scene of the crash, which they tried to use to trace the suspects. On April 22, 2007, Cam'ron was interviewed on 60 Minutes about the incident. He stated that he does not know who shot him. He also stated that he would "not help the police" try to locate the shooter saying he is "not a snitch" and helping the police would probably hurt his record sales.

Cam'ron was also questioned on 60 Minutes about the "Stop Snitchin'" campaign. When asked if he would tell the police if a serial killer was living next to him, Cam'ron replied "I would probably move," but wouldn't inform the police. Cam'ron has had contact with the police in the past. According to The Smoking Gun, New York Police Department records indicate that Giles filed a police report with police after he was assaulted at a Harlem playground in 1999. The description Giles had given to the cops about his assailants was "15 black males", inconclusive evidence if it were to be used in the court of law.

DO YOU THINK ALL THIS CRIMES REALLY PAY? YOUR CHILD MAY NOT HAVE BEEN LUCKY AND WAS SHOT AND KILLED JUST LIKE BIG L. DO NOT PROMOTE CRIME!

Last night, I got a call back from Heather Seabrook in Communications from Best Buy's Canadian headquarters in Burnaby, British Columbia. Heather and I chatted about my petition against Cam'ron's CD and here is the statement she gave me via phone. We had a conversation of 20 minutes.

"Kemi, what you are doing in preventing crime and ensuring public safety is absolutely fantastic, in fact you should really be commended for it. With regards to the Best Buy affiliation, the U.S branch of Best Buy completely operates separately from the Canadian side which is merged with Future Shop. I was not aware of the pre-sale logo on Cam'ron's MySpace website. The pre-sale is only in the U.S. Best Buy Canada is NOT selling this CD in our stores but it is available only online to whoever wants it. Due to the freedom of expression in Canada, we leave it up to whoever wants to buy the CD as there is the parental advisory on it.
I thank Heather Seabrook for clarifying Best Buy/Future Shop's stand on this issue.

SOME HATER IN GEORGIA KILLED DOLLA!!! MF TRIED TO GET ON THE PLANE TO WHERE?? HOPE IT WASN'T TO CANADA!

A 23-year-old Atlanta-area man has been arrested and charged with the Monday afternoon (May 18) death of 21-year-old Konvict Muzik recording artist Dolla.

Aubrey Louis Berry, a resident of Snellville, GA, a suburb about 25 miles Northeast of Atlanta, is being held on $1 million bond after being arrested Monday night, Los Angeles police said in a statement today (May 19).

According to the Associate Press, Berry was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport after reportedly dropping off a rental car and making his way to Terminal 1.

“As the officers approached the suspect, they asked him ‘Do you know why we’re here?’” Airport Police spokesman Sgt. Jim Holcomb told the AP. “He put his [hands] up in the air and said, ‘Yes, I’ve got a gun in my waistband. Don’t shoot me.”

The gun found on the suspects body was a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun.

Berry was immediately turned over to the LAPD.

According to police spokeswoman Karen Rayner, two other individuals, a man and a woman, are being questioned as “persons of interest” but have not been charged in connection with the shooting.

They were found at the airport with Berry and arrested before attempting to board a flight at LAX.

Dolla, born Roderick Anthony Burton, Jr. was fatally shot around 3:00pm Monday while waiting for his vehicle at a valet stand near the La Cienega Boulevard entrance of the Beverly Center.

Police initially believed the shooting was the result of a spontaneous argument between the two young men.

However, new evidence currently points to the theory that they knew each other, as Dolla had been a resident of Atlanta since the age of five.

Before signing to Akon’s Konvict Muzik imprint in 2007, Dolla had already experienced a certain level of success in the entertainment field.

He started his career as a member of Da Razkals Cru, a group signed to the now defunct Elektra Records.

He then landed a gig as a model for Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Sean John clothing line.

At the time of his death, Dolla was working on his debut album, Another Day, Another Dolla.

On one song, “Rainy Nights,” the young artist seems to have foreshadowed his own tragic demise, rapping “they say the good die young/ I guess I’m on my way.”

Dolla is survived by his sister Divinity, who is currently serving a prison sentence for an altercation with police; and his mother Joyce Burton, who still resides in Atlanta, where Dolla’s funeral will be held.

CAM'RON NEWS: BREAKING NEWS: Dipset Enforcer CARLOS THOMPSON Arrested After 3 Year Police Hunt, Murder Charges Involving Diplomat Mixtapes.

http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2008/05/24/amd_carlos-thompson.jpg

Dipset associate Carlos Thompson was reportedly arrested in New Jersey on Friday (May 15 2009) after being on the run from authorities and featured on "America's Most Wanted" for over three years.

Thompson was taken in by police yesterday afternoon on murder charges.

He was arrested in Sayreville after authorities received a tip that he was staying in a townhouse in the borough, police said. Thompson was arrested about 3:15 p.m. in a residence in the townhouse development. Borough police Detective Lt. Timothy Brennan and Detective Sgt. Thomas Cassidy were contacted early Friday and set up surveillance near the townhouse. They were joined by New York City police, U.S. marshals and several borough officers, who entered the townhouse and quickly apprehended Thompson, Detective Matthew Bandurski said. Thompson had apparently been leasing the Sayreville townhouse since November. A team of 14 officers participated in the arrest. (New Jersey Real-Time News)

His fugitive file has been featured on "America's Most Wanted."

When AMW aired the case of Dipset Crew enforcer Carlos Thompson on May 24, 2008, tipsters flooded our hotline with information about him. They told us he may be hiding in Brooklyn, and that his street name was "Bart Simpson." They also told us a tidbit of information that police had been keeping close to their vests: it turns out that on Halloween night 2007, Thompson was a passenger in a multi-car Manhattan crash. The driver of Thompson's car was drunk, hit a number of other vehicles and flipped over, killing another passenger. But, instead of sticking around, cops say Thompson -- a fugitive wanted for murder -- crawled out of the car, leaving his friend to die. New York police say it shows how far Thompson will go to stay on the run from his past. (America's Most Wanted)

Thompson was reportedly the 'force' behind Dipset.

A rap enforcer is being hunted for ordering a 13 year-old to kill a Harlem teen, authorities said. As muscle for the popular Dipset Crew, Thompson would travel with the performers to gigs and parties as protection against anyone with a beef. The NYPD issued an arrest warrant for Thompson in 2007 on grounds that he gave a gun to 13 year-old L'mani Delima in 2005 and told him to shoot 15-year-old Phoenix Garrett for selling Dipset Crew CDs on the street. (New York Daily News)

Another Dipset associate, King Tut, recently committed suicide after being on the run from police on felony charges.

Police say he killed himself in a taxi as suburban New York officers closed in on him. Greenburgh, N.Y., Lt. Chris McNerney says the cab carrying Tut was pulled over by police. McNerney says police ordered everyone out. The driver and a woman left the cab, but he refused. McNerney says that as police converged, the rapper shot himself in the head. (Associated Press)

1010 CFRB and Star and National Post interviews Wed May 13th 2009. I thank all the media houses who have interviewed me on this violence situation among our kids in Toronto.

As some of you are saying I am giving Free promo to Cam'ron? Don't think so. You take care of your own city and I will mine. This is Toronto, the 4th largest city in North America and my city now but if it means one album sale less will save the life of another 13-21 year old based on a title that can well go far in a teens brain., that's my goal!
